🟠1. What is the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)?
The Early Years Foundation Stage, known as the EYFS, is the start of the school journey in the British system. It comprises Nursery (3-4 years) and Reception (4-5 years), and focuses on building a solid foundation for each child’s learning and personal development.
Rather than focusing exclusively on academic content, EYFS promotes learning through play, exploration, communication and emotional development.

This stage marks the beginning of learning in the British early years system, where priority is given to personal, emotional and social development. Seven key areas of learning are addressed during this stage:
